- To have a working knowledge of the principles of communicative language teaching approach in a bilingual context
- To understand content-based instruction as an approach in developing the Cognitive Academic Language Proficiency ( CALP ) of students
- To help teachers focus on the development of thinking skills using CBI
- To integrate the function of language and its form in classroom instruction
- To diagnose the language and reading proficiency of the English teachers to facilitate their knowledge of the English Language
- To assist teachers to make lesson plans and demonstrate their competence in integrating the macro skills in the English language
