2010 National Schools Press Conference (NSPC)

In line with the thrust to  promote responsible and free journalism pursuant to the provisions of Section 2 of RA 7079, this Department through the National Technical Working Groups from the BEE and BSE shall conduct the 2010 National Schools Press Conference (NSPC) on Feb 22-26, 2010 in Tagum City Davao Del Norte Region XI.


The conference theme "Campus Journalism as a Catalyst for Change: Achieving the MDGs by 2015 (Pampaaralang Pahayagan bilang Instrumento ng Pagbabago: Maisakatuparan ang MDGs ng 2015)" focuses on the 2015 Millennium Development Goals. Each region is advised to craft a regional theme aligned with the national theme.

The National Orientation Workshop on the Millennium Development Goals for the Regional Coordinators of Schools Press Conference shall be held on Spet 14-16, 2009 Marikina Hotel and Convention Center, Marikina City. Traveling expenses shall be charge to journalism funds.

RA7076 earmarks a subsidy of P2,500,000 pesos as payment of trophies, certificates, supplies and materials, honoraria, board and lodging of evaluators, duges and facilitators. Participants shall pay a registration fee of P4,000 to cover board and lodging, kits and other materials.  Expected participants of 2010 PressCon will be 3,604 while each region shall send 212 officials delegates.
